Amazon.co.uk Preview Just as the Harry Potter movies seem to be getting better with each sequel, so to the games have been improving with every new release. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire shows every sign of being the best yet with a greater emphasis on playing all the characters and not just Harry.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione are all playable (and they look like the actors from the film too) and each has their own special abilities, strengths and weakness. These can be augmented by collecting and using Collector's and Creature Cards as well, almost like a proper role-playing game.
Perhaps the games greatest draw though, other than much improved graphics, is the co-operative mode which allows you to play all the way through the game with up to two friends joining in. There?ll be no arguments over who gets to be Harry either as everyone has to work together with the most powerful spells only being possible by everyone combining their powers. The spell casting itself works in a different way than before with the analogue controllers being used to move your wand around on screen--you can even feel it shake as the rumble pack of your controller kicks in.
Harry haters still won?t enjoy this on principle, and to be honest it?s neither the most original or difficult game ever made, but for fans of the films and books it looks absolutely wizard. -- Harrison Dent
This preview is based on an incomplete version of the game; features or problems mentioned above may not appear in the finished game.
Absolute rubbish July 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have the first 2 harry potter games on pc and i thought they were very good but this one is a total let down. The controls are really difficult and the gameplay is awful. The camera angles are a pain in the arse. I got bored of it within 10 mins cos it was so awful. Also you cant even explore hogwarts which is another let down. Overall 1/5

I can't believe the reviews for this are so bad! What is wrong with the world?!?!?!
This game is the BEST game out of the first 4. The graphics are amazing, the levels are much more fun, there are more spells and I love how you can team up with Ron and Hermione to achieve more powerful and complicated spells! There is nothing frustrating about it at all, not even how the other characters get in the way sometimes...it makes it more fun. The camara views are very cool, making it a much more sophisticated game. Everything about this game makes it awesome and those who have poorly rated this game seriously need a new brain...the game is blatently better, how you find it harder/dull/problematic is beyond me!

Sad Game March 5, 2008 i have all 5 games now and i played the GOF on the gameboy first and i thought the goblet of fire on pc would be different. Ithought it would be good and i was wanting to see what they did with hogwarts but you can't even explore hogwarts. All you can do is look in pensive load missions.I congratulate EA on making the order of the pheonix the best hp yet in my opinion but this game. . . .
Not what I was looking for November 8, 2007 I must say that I was disappointed with the game mostly due to its compromising the adventure and fun for the sake of graphics. I didn't finish it as I got frustrated somewhere in the middle and decided not to be bothered seeing what is at the end. I regret buying it at the moment of release and spending so much on it. Could have waited and bought a second hand one - perhaps then the disappointment would be smaller.
Harry Potter Game August 19, 2007 Well, I had all bought the 1st 3 games and loved them, but this one was different. It doesn't have the same qualities as the others! I was quite disappointed with it really. Some of it was quite good but to be honest, not THAT good...
